BABIES & TODDLERS
There’s something for every child at CityGates - starting right from birth! We aim to support parents, carers and families as they begin to raise little ones and to teach kids about Jesus from the start of their lives. We run several activities for under 5s, which you can read about below.
Sundays
For all of these groups, children start in the main hall with their parents or carers. After a short time with the whole church family, you can take your child to the appropriate group and sign them in for the remainder of the service, allowing you to return to hear the sermon yourself. Parents then sign their child out again at the end of the service.
Mustard Seeds. During both morning services, we run a drop-off creche for babies aged 6 months to approximately 2 and a half years.
During this time (around 40 minutes), your little ones will hear a short Bible talk involving taking objects out of a shiny bag, singing and lots of time playing with toys. You will be given a ‘take home’ slip to hear what your child has been learning about.

Little Beans. During both morning services, we run a drop-off creche for toddlers aged around 2 and a half to 5.
For about 40 minutes, children will hear a Bible talk about Jesus, sing some songs, join in with some games, make a craft that reminds them of what they’ve learnt and play with toys. You will be given a ‘take home’ slip to share what they’ve been learning about.
Viewing Room. For very little ones, we have a room to the side of the main hall, for parents to take their children to if they wish. There’s a screen to allow you to watch the service and a sliding door to allow you to still feel connected. You may also use this room if an older child needs space out of the main hall before their group.
If you’re new or visiting, there’s always someone directing people where to go on a Sunday! If you have any questions before you come, please feel free to contact us with the form below - we’d love to hear from you.

Midweek Groups
Smarties. Smarties is a toddler group for babies and pre-schoolers and their parent and/or carers. We provide a wide range of toys, snacks, singing and bible story-time whilst adults can enjoy conversation over tea and coffee.
We meet every Friday in term time from 9.45am to 11.15am, at CityGates Church.
The suggested cost for each session is a voluntary donation of 50p per child.
Anyone below school age is welcome to come along. There's no need to book, we'll ask you to fill out a basic registration form when you arrive.
