We’ve been a church in the city of Norwich for over 168 years but back in November we changed our name from Surrey Chapel to become CityGates Church. Why? Well, we realised that the name Surrey Chapel didn’t really mean a lot to people walking past our building and the church family agreed that it was a bit confusing given that we aren’t based on Surrey Street anymore (we were once), and we don’t really look like a chapel!
We know our building isn’t that much to look at from the outside, but we’d love you to come and experience the welcome on the inside, have some fun with us at these events to celebrate our name change, and begin to hear something of the faith we have in Jesus Christ.

2:00-5:00pm - Singing workshop
5:00pm - Afternoon tea and cake
6:00-6:30pm - Informal concert for friends and family
Ever wanted to sing The Halleluljah Chorus with friendly, enthusiastic but not necessarily experienced singers? Well now's your chance!

Saturday 18 March, 10:00-11:15am (under 11's)
We'll have lots of inflatables filling the church for you to enjoy, including bouncy castles, sumo suits and soft play!
There will be plenty of time to bounce with snacks and a short talk.
Please note: all children under 11 must be accompanied by a parent/carer at all times.

An evening with musician Jeff Hammer playing keys and reliving memories of life in Teardrop Explodes, then with Stray Cats, ABC, being Wilde about Kim, 'Bad' with Michael Jackson, touring with Bowie, Top of the Pops,
Glastonbury and more. And how his faith in Jesus helped him survive it all!
This is a free event, drinks will be available by donation on the evening .

Mother's Day Guest Services
When: Sunday 19 March, 9:30am or 11:15am
We want to give thanks for Mums and all they do to love and serve us, whatever age we are. If that's a painful topic for you, please don't be put off coming along, as celebrating Mums will only form a short part of our time together, and we're always more excited to celebrate Jesus together than anything else!
We'll do lots of the normal things we do in our church services, we'll sing, there'll be prayer led from the front and we'll have a passage from the bible read and explained to us, you can join in with as much or as little of all that as you wish.
Refreshments will be served between the two services. If you attend the 9:30am service then please stay on at the end to enjoy the refreshments, and if you plan to attend the 11:15am service then you're welcome to come early to grab a hot drink.
**Please note both services will contain the same content and will run for approximately 1 hour each.
